National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS)
°Õ³ó±ðÌýÌýwas established inÌý1973 by the Board of RegentsÌýafterÌýitÌýinitiated a pilot study to assess the potentialÌýof a college credit advisory service. This project was a directÌýoutcome ofÌýrecommendations made by the Commission on Non-Traditional Study, a two-year venture supported byÌýthe CarnegieÌýCorporation, to provide a national perspective on the future of higher education, including recognizingÌýand grantingÌýcredit for postsecondary learning undertaken in noncollegiate settings. The Commission called for aÌýsystem to establishÌýcollege credit equivalencies for courses offered by government, industry, and other noncollegiateÌýsponsors.
